Leonard F. Tau DMD FAGD

Raving Patients: The Ultimate Social Proof – 1 CE

Course Description:

Word of mouth has always been the foundation for the acquisition of new patients by a dental practice but in our internet age, word of mouth is transformed because of reviews sites like Google, Yelp, Facebook, Health grades and dozens of others. You can now let your patients do the marketing for the practice. Practices must have a plan in place to establish, promote, manage and monitor a positive reputation online. Positive reviews will drive business to your practice while negative reviews turn potential patients away. A bad customer experience which goes unresolved can lead to a bad reputation and thus lost revenue. Many dentists don’t know how to manage their reputation online. In this interactive, energized seminar, Dr. Tau shares numerous tips and best practices, as well as the system that has been tried and tested in his own office enabling him to take his practice to the next level simply by marketing his reputation.

Objectives:

  • Learn software programs that help manage your reputation
  • Discuss ways in which patient reviews can manifest online
  • Recognize why responding to negative reviews is not a good idea
  • Develop strategies for garnering positive patient reviews
  • Review team training tips for garnering positive feedback

Speaker Bio:

After purchasing his practice the Pennsylvania Center for Dental Excellence in Philadelphia in 2007, Dr. Leonard Tau solely used the power of the internet to help grow his new patient base and went against the traditional way of marketing one’s dental office. He lectures nationally and internationally on internet marketing, social media and reputation marketing and its ability to make your dental office more visible and credible. He is also the General Manager of the Dental Division for Birdeye a reputation marketing platform and founder of iSocial Digital a consulting firm that helps dentists develop a comprehensive online marketing plan. His content rich, engaging seminars allow him to bring his first-hand experiences to his audiences.

Chosen as one of the top leaders in dental consulting by Dentistry Today, Dr. Leonard Tau DMD is a Dentist, Consultant, Speaker and Practice owner. Few professionals within the dental industry have the level of expertise, knowledge, and passion for the field. He has traveled the country educating dental professionals to help them succeed in growing their practice, reigniting their passion for dentistry and navigating the fast-changing nature of the job.

Are you a Redeemer or Punisher? – 1 CE

Course Description:

Staff costs are the largest overhead expense in a Dental Practice. And this expense can spiral out of control if you have constant staff turnover. My goal is to show how being a “Redeemer” in your practice is much more effective financially and culturally than being a “Punisher.”

Objectives:

  • Learn how to give a struggling team member a path to redemption
  • Learn how to create a culture of support that encourages redemption
  • Learn when to move on from a team member that is fair for everyone

Katina R. Cloud, RDH

What if it was your Mom? – 1 CE

Course Description:

In this course, you will find out how dental care providers can bring oral care and dental awareness to long term care facilities. The growth in the older adult population has caused an increase of nursing home residents. With healthier lifestyles, greater health awareness and improved access to dental care older Americans are maintaining their natural teeth resulting in less edentulous residents in nursing home facilities. The lack of training and education of nursing home staff, as well as staff shortages, effect the oral care of nursing home residents. The link between oral bacteria and nursing home acquired pneumonia makes it imperative that nursing home residents receive adequate oral care. There is great need for dental care professionals to provide oral care to residents and education to staff in the nursing home community.

Objectives:

  • Understand the need for oral health care and education in long term care facilities.
  • Identify opportunities to become an advocate for improved oral health in long term care facilities.

Speaker Bio:

Over the last 16 years Katina has been integral in helping to mentor and develop fellow dental hygienist as well as assistants. Ahoy all Smiles at Sea travelers!

Please read the following update pertaining to the October 2019 Smiles at Sea event.

As you probably have already heard, due to changes in US policy regarding travel to Cuba, all cruises to Cuba have been cancelled effective June 5th 2019. Fortunately, Royal Caribbean has already rerouted the itinerary to include Nassau, Bahamas instead of Havana, Cuba. In addition, the cruise line has decided to discount the cruise fare by 50%!! (excluding government taxes).

This is great news since the Smiles at Sea event will remain unchanged and all CE classes and activities will be held as scheduled!

If you have paid for your cruise in full, you will receive a refund to your original form of payment of the discounted amount.

If you have not yet paid for your cruise in full, your monthly payment schedule with Smiles at Sea will be adjusted accordingly to reflect the discounted amount.

You will soon receive a communication from Royal Caribbean outlining the itinerary change and the discount described above. You may also cancel your reservation for a full refund.

All cancellation requests must be received by Smiles at Sea no later than June 15, 2019.

For questions or cancellation requests please call Jason Hantman or Edward Suarez at 954-420-9133

We are looking forward to seeing everyone in October.

Bon Voyage,

The Smiles at Sea Team
